The 57th Republic Day will be celebrated at the Indian Chancery: 2107 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC. The national flag will be unfurled at 10:00 a.m., followed by the national anthem, reading of the President's message by the Ambassador, patriotic songs and light refreshments. All are invited to attend the celebration.

Smithsonian Institution features a talk on "Religions of Asia".

Docents familiarize visitors with three of the major religions represented on the continent of Asia. Visitors discuss key principles and practices associated with each religion and visually explore the iconography and formal elements significant to its art. India school announces the start of its first spring 2006 session that will run from February 5th to may 21st. 

Registration and the first day of classes is on February 5th, at the Thomas W. Pyle Middle School, 6311 Wilson Lane, Bethesda, MD. Registration will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. subject offered are Hindi, other Indian languages, classical vocal music, keyboard, harmonium, tabla, movie dance, folk dance, Kathak and Yoga.
